In the off season between 1959 and 1960, TMBL owners made some historical moves:

The Houston Colt .45s moved back to Chicago as the Cubs.
The San Diego Padres went home to Philadelphia as the Phillies.
The Seattle Pilots moved to Los Angeles as the Angels.
The Kansas City Monarchs reverted to their MLB pro name, the Athletics.
The Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants grabbed a train to California, becoming the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants.
The Cincinnati Reds scooted back into the National League, while the Washington Senators took their rightful place in the American League.

In 1969 the Washington Senators moved from the AL West to the AL East.
In 1970 the Seattle Pilots became the Milwaukee Brewers.
In 1972 the Washington Senators became the Texas Rangers and moved from the AL East to the AL Central.
In 1972 the Cleveland Indians moved from the AL Central to the AL East.

In 1973 TMBL added the DH rule for the American League.

In 1977, TMBL expanded by two teams: Seattle Mariners (AL West) and Toronto Blue Jays (AL East).
This caused a reshuffling of divisions in which the following teams made moves:
The Detroit Tigers left the AL Central and moved to the AL East.
The Cleveland Indians left the AL East and moved to the AL Central.
The Minnesota Twins left the AL West and moved to the AL Central.
The Kansas City Royals left the AL West and moved to the AL Central.
The Texas Rangers left the AL Central and moved to the AL West.

TMBL thanks the owners involved for helping us continue to maintain historical accuracy in our league.

Owner Voted Awards

Also in the off season between 1959 and 1960, some owners expressed a desire to vote for player awards rather than just accept the BaseBall Mogul selections.

Beginning in the history section for 1959, you'll see two entries per league for every award.
The entries in black are BBM assigned awards. The entires in gold are the results of TMBL owner voting.

We also added a General Manager of The Year award to pay homage to our best and brightest. This award is only displayed in gold since BBM has no such category.

In 1972, we started voting for Player of the Year and Reliever of the Year awards. These awards are only displayed in gold since BBM has no such category. Player of the Year voting was discontinued in 1974 due to a lack of interest and the winner always being the same as the MVP. Reliever of the Year was discontinued in 1984 due to lack of interest.
